Hiking Tonto Natural Bridge and Fishing. Memorial Day weekend.

Off to Pinetop we went for memorial day weekend again this year. It's our 4th year doing this, and one of our favorite traditions. We changed things up a bit by adding a hike and some fishing on the way up. I, in all my robust glory, manhandled the 12 minute hike just fine, along with our two-year-old Claire. Luckily it was a short and sweet hike, ending up at a very cool natural bridge complete with dripping water and wet rocks to climb all over. Like I told the kids there are not many hikes in our town that result in finding shade and water - so this is my favorite. We had a blast doing it and I highly recommend it (11 miles west of Payson).

After we wore ourselves out we got back in the car to find a pretty fishing spot. Daddy says he refuses to raise a bunch of pansies who won't touch a worm or put a hook on a line. So he invested in some legit gear and we have ourselves a new family hobby. Claire, with her miniature barbie pole, may have liked it most. Casting and reeling her weight on the line in and out, in and out.

Its always beautiful and relaxing to get out in nature. And there's nothing greater than being together as a family making memories.
