Me as mom
pretty in pink
Ashley slept in pink rollers this weekend for Easter. She looked adorable and her hair was beautiful for church on Sunday. I felt like my mother while putting them in her hair remembering them in Ali's and my hair as kids (usually ali's, mine was too short, 'nother subject). But I feel so blessed to have two daughters who love to get dressed up and spend time with me doing girly things.

Hoppy Easter!!
The Easter Bunny made a surprise visit to our house last night while I had the scouts here. My friend is earning money for the 3-day walk so she is making Easter Bunny housecalls! The kids were thrilled when she arrived with a boom box playing easter tunes, eggs and goodies for them all. I was hysterical inside knowing what a fool she was making of herself. But the best part was when she led us all in the bunny hop and Luke noticed her blond ponytail bouncing underneath the costume head... he literally fell on the floor laughing, recognizing for the first time how funny it is when people dress up! After we all got pictures and she left Ashley asked if it was grandma or Shelly under there. "I saw blonde hair!", she exlaimed! Jake was content just knowing the Easter Bunny had come early and would be here again this weekend. It was an event well worth the money she earned to do it!! Thanks Rachel! :)

Watching and Waiting for the Temple
Ali and I decided it would be fun to take the kids over to the new Gilbert Temple site every six months during general conference weekend to take a picture of the kids. It will be neat to see the construction progress behind them over the next two to three years. Also, for all of us to have this memory of watching a temple be built in our home town! I've told the kids, who knows, maybe one of them will be married there one day! :)
The groundbreaking was held in November 2011. Since then the builders have been busy burying powerlines along greenfield and pecos rds and starting on the foundation. Not that much to see yet.
