Great week together

Tyler and I got back from our big trip late last night. We were welcomed in the baggage claim by three of the sweetest angels on earth and one darling grandma!! Precious to be back with all of them after 9 days away!

For our anniversary we took the Western Caribbean 7-day cruise. My oh my, was it a treat. Never have we been away for anywhere near that long from the kids! On the ship we were not only on a break from parenthood, but from work, cell-phones, wallets, the Internet... everything! IT WAS HEAVEN!

A top 5 of our favorite things were:

1 - Sitting in the hot tubs on the top deck of the front of the ship each evening watching the sun go down. Add to that an ice-cream cone or Pina Colada and we were feeling on top of the world.

2 - Coming back to a clean room every day and night. I just loved walking into a freshly made (or turned down) bed every time I turned around. The service was top-notch, so friendly.

3 - Watching the Olympics! We watched it on the big screen from the pools on the ship deck and often from the comfort of our quiet, comfortable bed - morning, noon, or night...whenever we happened to be in the mood (delightful).

4 - The sit-down dinners each night. At first it felt a bit awkward to be sitting at a table with six people we didn't know, but by the middle of the week they were our friends. We had some great laughs and made good memories with them and our kind waiter, Elmer. The ship became like a home away from home.

5 - The off-shore excursions. We learned a lot about what we'd like to do or not do if next time rolls around. But we really enjoyed getting off the ship and doing some exploring. We visited Isla Roaton, Honduras; Belize City, Belize; and Cozumel, Mexico. Also on the itinerary were the Caymen Islands, but we weren't able to stop there because the weather wasn't cooperating (bummer).
