This has been an exciting weekend. The kids start school again on Monday! Last night we went to the school which is just a couple streets away and enjoyed "back to school night". It was awesome. The kids' classrooms are beautiful and their teachers both seem very kind. Ashley was counting down the hours before it and just beamed as she explored the new room. It is just me, or do some of you other moms get choked up on back to school night? It happened to me last year too. It something about presenting my sweet little kids to their new teachers, seeing how excited they are and thinking about how quickly they are growing up.
Ashley will be in all day kindergarten, and Luke is in 1st. School starts at 9 and they will probably get home about 4. Super weird.
Jakey is turning 3 on Monday as well (big weekend, as I mentioned). It is awesome to see what a big boy he is becoming... we now have all three kids in boosters, all three swimming safely on their own, all three in underwear... it's chill. I find myself at playgroup feeling like I have the easy load - and that's a first.
So it's a milestone week in our family's life. Crisp new backpacks are sitting packed along the wall by the front door. New clothes and shoes are laid out in the kids rooms. The pantry's stocked with school lunch foods. Birthday presents are hiding wrapped in my closet for Jake. Everyone's got fresh haircuts. It's exciting.

I totally get choked up on first and last days of school! And congrats on your new and exciting (and more relaxing!!) stage of life! :)
Happy first day of school! We still have two weeks before the kids head back here. Guess we'll visit another museum or two...
