My Sweet Dad's Birthday

May 18 is my dad's birthday. He passed away just over three years ago now which is hard to believe. Today I have him on my mind and want to post a few of pictures of him. He was honestly one of the kindest, most friendly people I know; Always engaged in service to others and making people smile. I often tell my children how much they would have loved their grandpa and share stories of the many talents he had... magic tricks, juggling, writing in cursive backwards, hitting a golf ball straight up and catching it in his hat. He was always up for a hot bath and a popcorn party and he loved "canny" .... all of my kids' favorites!

He was also a great friend and father to me. Some of my fondest memories with him are during my high school years when we used to go running together at night. He always had interesting things to talk about and was a good listener too. I am lucky to have him as my father and also my amazingly strong, faithful and beautiful mother! Happy Birthday, Dad. We love & miss you!

hey love thanks for sharing this post about your dad. just thinking of him puts a smile on my face and i know he's so proud of you and your family. (great pics from mother's day!) one of my favorite mark memories is when you two were having an argument because he had taken a red pen to one of your papers for school and done TONS of corrections. he wrote you a note to apologize and you took the red pen to HIS note and made corrections and tacked it up on his bedroom door! ha! what a great man!

Bishop Mugleston was one of the best people I knew. He really had a huge impact on me and my life. I loved spending those 7 months serving as a missionary. He and Kendall were always so welcome and there door was always open to our frequent visits. A true hero!

I wish I would have known him. You carry a great legacy. The talents and attribute you have, I can see that a lot of them come from your father. Your sense of humor and quotes! You are a fun mom and are always creative with your kids.

You look so young, maybe 14 years old in the picture of you pregnant with Luke. Cute but young.

Anne, that is a really sweet post. I am so glad that I was able to know your dad a little...he's really a great man.
I thought the same thing as Jill...you look so young in the picture when you are pregnant (not that you look old now...but seriously you look like you are 14 and now you look like you are maybe 20)
It was fun to see you yesterday!

Anne - thank you for the pictures. Just the other day I was driving on empty - again - and I thought of your dad and how when I would run out of gas, he would get on his scooter and bring me some in the red can. It happened more than once. I walk by your old house and think of the wonderful time I had being so close to your family. I miss Mark - and I miss your family.
Happy Birthday Mark!! With love, denise

I love your dad! He wrote in my wedding sign in book in his famous backwards cursive. I have to hold it to a mirror to read it! One of his many talents!!!

You have a lot of your dad's great sense of humor -- another thing I loved about him.

Happy Birthday Mark!

YES! of course you can have a copy. I actually have my sign in book here (as in not in storage) - he wrote, "May love turn your life around. Mark Mugleston" I actually had to just go hold it to a mirror! haha. Anyway, do you want me to scan a copy & email it to you or you can take my book and make whatever copies you want. Just let me know. My email is amym.gregory@gmail.com

Hi Anne & Tyler -- I'm loving your blog. So much to tell you I love about it all that I'll just say you guys are amazing. The tribute to your dad is amazing!! What a great daughter. I did think about him on his birthday. He is loved by so many people and when I saw what you put on your blog -- my eyes couldn't help fogging up. Ashleys little red outfit for the dance recital was beyond adorable. Anne, you did such a great job on your bday party for Tyler. Thanks for being so great to him!! Can't wait to see you guys in a few weeks. Love, Shauna
